The beginning
At the beginning of an era, Clayton and Will (aka WhiteTrashWilly) met at the event called SD7 in San Diego. At the time Will was wanting to pursue photography. He ended up shooting some photos of Clayton and many others during the event. Clayton and Will became Facebook friends and talked here and there until they met up at a Scooter Farm event at Woodward West action sports camp in Stallion Springs California. Which sparked a friendship between the two.
In 2014 Clayton had recently moved to San Diego California from Amarillo Texas to pursue his career as a Pro Scooter Rider. In the meantime, Will lived 45 minutes outside of San Fransisco California where he had lived for a few years after moving there from Denver Colorado. Will began driving down to stay with Clayton in his studio apartment for a few days. Which turned into a few weeks and then months at a time.
During Wills's long stay, they began making YouTube videos for a Scooter shop in San Diego called “The Scooter Farm”. They interviewed some of the top pros that were in town and filmed a 60-minute video inside of the backroom skatepark. That became known as the “Hour in the Barnyard” series that premiered every Wednesday for a few months.
They decided to move in together as roommates in mid-2016.
Living in an apartment in Escondido California that was actually connected to a grocery store called “Vons”. The two would go and practice tricks on their scooters like manuals, nose manuals, plus grinds on some ledges that were in that same parking lot. One night they were goofing around, the idea of a YouTube channel came up. After throwing some ridiculous names back and forth such as, “Loose bolts?” “no that’s not it” “Stripped Clamp?” “ehh that’s already a thing” “Dialed?” “Ooo maybe, but that was a magazine back in the day”. both sitting in the dark thinking. “Undialed?” Will said in a joking manner. both contemplating to see if it matched what they both wanted. “Ehh, still not it.” They blew it off and kept riding hoping to come up with more ideas. Clayton then told Will an idea for a name. a name that the two were very excited about but, Sadly we can’t tell you what that name is because we can’t remember what is was exactly. Maybe one day we will remember.
A few days passed, they had both thoughts and thought about the ideas they had come up with. “Undialed” really started to catch on. sounding better the more and more they repeated it. Finally after about 2 weeks of trying to decide, “Undialed” it was. After plotting their game plan for the channel they made an Instagram page called “@Undialed” to promote their YouTube channel. Everything was in place but Will felt really weird about the account only being dedicated to Will and Clayton. Very quickly that account was made into what it is today. A place where they promote all ranges of scooter riding through the hashtag #Undialed.
After a while of only having the scooter pages and youtube content. fingerboarding started to become a popular piece of content for YouTube. They soon decided to make two more Instagram accounts “@undialedfb” which revolves around fingerboarding only and “@Undialedfails” which has become sort of a meme page to post funny videos of people doing ridiculous things.
Now that you are all caught up. keep up with what they are doing by following www.youtube.com/undialed , www.YouTube.com/UndialedTV, @Undialed, @ClaytonLindley and @WhiteTrashWilly
